South Asian Voluntary Association of Environmentalist was established in 2007, and will soon be expanding its chapters in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAVAE focuses on ecological cooperation to undertake and reinforce regional cooperation for the conservation of water resources and environment, pollution free region, and preparedness to deal with natural disasters.
SAVAE will be working for the promotion of sharing of basic resources among nations in the sub-region so as to reduce production and trading costs. Recognizing the need for the cooperation in sharing and management of natural resources, the South Asia will be working on issue like water, food, energy security and more importantly on climate change.
